THE Upadhyai Lab

We are located in the Department of Medical Genetics, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. We study how primary cilia, autophagy, intracellular trafficking and RNA-processing pathways regulate development, cellular function and disease. Using patient-derived cells, mammalian cell models, Drosophila and human genetic data, we investigate both rare genetic disorders and common complex diseases—using each to uncover broader principles of human biology.
